January 30, 2017: Ruminating

Goat rests chin on windowsill,
looks out rather than in.
Why, he wonders, does it hurt to swallow?
How come it’s no longer the other way around.
He would ask his sibling who knows all,
But sibling cannot do all.
For instance, he cannot open doors,
The one that leads out of this place being most important.

Earlier, goat watched as the smallest red pony
Pushed open the outer goat shed door
with her nose, walked into the goat shed
and began eating the soiled goat hay.
Goat sauntered past pony and began eating fresh hay.
Human ran outside in bare feet and separated the two.

Thinks goat--
Smart goat
Stupid pony
Stupid, stupid human.
