After, Robert came over and Pete made us all sourdough pancakes for breakfast. This meal sticks to my ribs better than oatmeal.
Robert and Pete then went to Anchorage, and I worked at the Meeting House, getting all the children’s books boxed and into the library room. I also worked downstairs for a bit. I also got books ready for distribution. Pete’s going to pick up two new bookcases tomorrow. One’s going to be in the lobby of the Matanuska Valley Credit Union in Wasilla and the other one is going to be in the Chickaloon Post Office.
The guys returned to the Meeting House in the late afternoon – they brought back a Toyota RAV4. It belongs to the Book Project. However, I’m going to be the primary driver. It’s white. It’s a nice car. The only thing wrong with it is that it has 75,000 plus miles on it. This seems like a lot to me.
Pete and I included Robert in on the afternoon distribution. I made my usual stops, this including the Eagle Hotel. There, once inside the door, we encountered the owner, who showed us the banquet room, which we considered renting before but did not because the price was so high.
Robert liked the space. So did I. Pete seemed noncommittal. It appears, though, that we may rent the space and move the BLBP out of the Meeting House and into this space. And this might happen fast. Then again, it might not happen at all.
The fellow who owns the hotel also owns the lots across the street and is interested in selling them to us. I’ll believe it when I see it.
We ate at the Mexican restaurant and further discussed the first option. Pete said that he’d point out to them that once moved, that the Eagle Hotel Option will be cheap, which is as affordable as the Meeting House and U-Haul space.
I don’t relish the prospect of moving, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. Having everything in one place will be good.
We got home late. I didn’t have a chance to ride any of the horses. Seldom is there ever a day as nice as it was today.
