January 14, 2024: Nulla Dies Sine Linea: Energy

The term energy is most likely the hardest term to define. I suspect that those who study physics and have a physics language, have a good working definition. My definition then, is in relation to writing. Energy, in plain, unadorned English, is simply a life force.

I always have and always will get my best writing done in the morning. This is because I am then rested. I don’t drink coffee, but I do eat breakfast. Breakfast energizes, as does a good night’s sleep. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in years but my getting a partial rest enables me to (as the cow pokes say) get a move on.

I had a really good, in fact memorable writing session this morning. Last night I composed a handwritten draft, one which I typed up this morning. It was not rote, I was happily adding and subtracting sentences and paragraphs the entire time. My best writing came when I wrote about The Church of the Hoarders (located in the Meeting House) and what their little room contained.

I am trying to focus on places that contain abundance of one kind or another – and this little room was it. I now recall that I was hoping that the Meeting House powers that be might clear it out and that the BLBP might be given or rent the space. This never came to be.

But U-Haul –it is a source of abundance. It contains community overflow.

Shelf Life is not a book of reportage although I am planning on including more of this in there – this is so that I can be considered for a Pulitzer Prize. Another Pulitzer Prize determinate is that I find a reputable publisher, one with the right connections. Self-publishing – uh uh. I want and need the connections and I won’t get them by self-publishing.

U-Haul, I need to find out how many units it has, and what happens when customers fail to pay their bills. I will, when I go to get this information, also have other questions.

My plan is to go through the entire document and put stars in those places where I need reportage-based information. I am also going to go to Title Wave Books and interview Angela, the owner.

Including self-based information and also the Inside of a book sections is going to work.

I just have to keep believing in what I’m doing. Yesterday I wrote about the B word, blaah blaah. I think that I instead need to write about belief. If you don’t believe in your work, you will fail to get that book published. This is because this is like an endurance race – belief is what gets you to the finish line.

I have not done well here in writing about energy in relation to my writing. This must mean that I am going to have to come up with yet another E word. My subconscious may be overtaxed.
