I vowed to leave the former banquet room of the historic Eagle hotel at 4:00 p.m., but I ended up getting out of there at 5:00 p.m. This is a decided improvement over past days, when I’ve gotten home much later.
This morning I met Pete at the Palmer Senior Center, and we purchased a flimsy bookcase that he set up in the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. It was quiet in the afternoon, so I checked out some of the prices of the books on eBay and then put them on the shelves.
I sat at the desk that Pam used to use. And as I priced books, I thought that, finally, I am bridging the book store/distribution divide. I really felt like a book shop owner. I additionally thought – I’ve been giving away books now for five years. Now it’s time to see if I can sell any. We have been doing just fine on eBay, but if people purchase books directly, we will eliminate the shipping costs and the eBay fees.
We have gotten the word out about the fact that we are a distributor – and everyone seems to know about the BLBP. So now is the time to sell books. The cost of a book, hell, is less than a cup of coffee. C’mon readers, cough up.
I said that I wanted to go for a ride, so Pete put off finishing making dinner. And I did get out for a ride. I rode Tyra. She, like the others, does enjoy getting out. She is our best riding horse in that she’s light on her feet.
She, like the other two, is so bomber that I don’t have to worry about her doing anything stupid, like spooking at a grouse or a gunshot. Finally, I can enjoy the ride. Today I thought some about Eleanor – I was able to forgive her for a day, but then my endurance ran out. I hope she made it home okay. Dodged the bullet, getting home before a government shutdown.
Tyra is right now, like the others, overweight – but I am going to ride all winter, and if need be, I’ll keep the trails open.
This is all very intentional. We’ll see if the weather and work conspire against me.
