This morning, Tyra’s poop was again a mess. It was semi-solid and runny. I got scared because there was so much water. I thought, she’s going to die if this continues. I have given our veterinarian the benefit of the doubt. He’s on vacation. He was supposed to make sure that the lab got the fecal samples. But we haven’t heard.
He will reappear, and he and Pete will talk, and he will reassure my significant other that all is well/everything is fine. Well, it isn’t fine. All I can do is wait and hope for the best. I love this horse. I love all three horses.
So first thing, I got Tyra out and cleaned up her runny rear end and tail. I then took her temperature, which was 100.2, and I checked her gums, which indicated that she wasn’t dehydrated. I then took her for a walk around the loop. She didn’t seem to me to be super energetic, but she was okay.
I felt like I did connect with Tyra and after was a little less apprehensive. She’s different than Raudi. She is agreeable and does not have an attitude. And now she’s Pete’s riding horse. Upon our return, I saw a magpie by her eating enclosure. Tyra converses with the birds. This I know for a fact.
I next got Raudi out and went for a trail ride. She was slow – I think that the hard ground is hard on her tender feet. After, I got Hrimmi out. Now that there is very little grass, she is a bit more energized. She might also be tired of being ridden on the road.
I have been doing these horses a disservice. They know what it’s like to be ridden or for me to do agility with them. They are languishing away. Today I did something about this, by working with them first thing. I have a busy day tomorrow. I am going to try and be organized so that I can at least walk one of them.
