Right now, 14˚ degrees is cold. In another month, after the temperature drops to below 0˚ F; 14 degrees will seem near balmy. The body, it adjusts.
Yesterday’s momentum did carry over into today. Pete and I went to the Raven Hall consignment sale and took it all in. It was the third day of the sale – there were even on the third day, a lot of people present and a lot of items for sale.
I found myself wishing that I had a fashion advisor, someone who might accompany me to this sort of thing and assist me in selecting clothes. It was like the above-noted math session – just too much for me. I have some ideas about how I’d like to dress, but I need another person to assist me in the process.
Our friend Sharon, who had her own consignment space, assisted Pete in picking out a suit coat. She had a friend there who ayed and nayed what Sharon said. How could Pete go wrong?
I checked out the book consignment area – and quickly determined what I’d take if given the opportunity. This is obviously because I’m practiced at this. I’m not practiced at doing math or picking out clothing.
We did ask the person in charge of the consignment area about the books, and she said that she’d promised them to charities. Must get on the list.
Working hard is key. Today I went in and I straightened out the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. I have this inherent sense of when I need to put books away and tidy up.
Tonight Pete and I ordered ben bag chairs and LEGOs. A new era is ahead, that of a literacy related activity.
