April 15, 2026: Rain and Snow

Yesterday, Raudi’s birthday, was just fine weather-wise. Today would not have been such a good day for a photo shoot. It rained and snowed most of the day. At least, I told myself, the temperature was most of the day in the low 40s.

The horse enclosure still has not drained; in fact, it seems like there is even more water in there. I would like to see a pair of sandhill cranes land on the water’s surface, and then after a bit take off. This would fill me with great joy.

Pete has a plan. Pete is able to come up with plans quickly. He is going to get the water pump and pump the water out of the pen. I am unclear as to how this is going to work, but it will work, I am sure.

I think the sort of problem solving that Pete does is learned. You troubleshoot and then you see similarities, making it easier to do the same next time.

Work – yep. We need to find an executive director and pay that person and an operations manager and pay that person. I hope this is an instance in which my envisioning it enables it to come to be. Then will come the move to a new location.

I am also working on envisioning an end to my implant infection. I’ve been having moments when I’ve been growing anxious thinking about this.

Oddly enough, this evening I went online and sought out additional possible cures. And I grew hopeful when I read that rinsing one’s mouth several times a day with salt water will help. I’m just going to use single minded intensity of focus and hope that I can blast the infection out of my mouth.

And my esophageal problem – still need to get an appointment at the Life House in Sutton. No one there is answering the phone. At least it’s a nice car ride to Sutton.

Today, back to today – I think the book project is growing in good directions. We’ve hired Dan, who we met through Megan—he will do distribution and give me a hand with heavy lifting. He will get paid for this. Yes, we are moving forward.

It has been an embarrassment of riches the past few days. Many, many good books have come in and are now going out. And most likely more books will be coming in in the next few weeks.

My thoughts are right now mainly on concert benefit preparations – maybe it was a good day that the weather was crappy because otherwise my focus would have been elsewhere. I had no idea – there are so many little things to tend to, and already things that have been forgotten – for example I didn’t think too much before about refreshments before this event materialized.

Oh, the sign that spring is really here. Pete acquired and launched the bees today. He wasn’t able to pick them up, so our friend Bill did this, and then left the bees in the outhouse, on the garbage can.

Bees need warmth. This will enable them to survive.
