May 17, 2026: Again, I forgot

All day, dispatch titles going into my head via my right ear and then exiting via my left ear. Nothing stays between the ears for very long. And if, say, I have two ideas to articulate, one will inevitably disappear.

I also have minimal face recognition, but this has always been a problem. I solve it by encouraging the other person to talk – this way I eventually get the context with the name following suit.

It turned out to be a very full day. It was Sunday, a supposed day of rest. But if you are a heathen like I am, you don’t get rest. You in fact do what others (who call themselves Christians) do – by taking up the slack.

So my day began as Sundays usually do, with my doing book project administrative – mainly getting ready for tomorrow’s meeting. I also thanked those who volunteered the past two days.

I then went and took Raudi for a ride on Siggi’s Trail. I’d say that it’s almost ready for prime time. It was just a touch boggy in some places, but not enough to force me to turn around and head home.

I think that she was ready to get out.

I stopped on Jim’s Road and talked for a bit with our neighbor, Karen. She has a multi-breed dog who is one or two and is still very energetic.

I then went to town, first to the Bella Kid’s consignment sale, where they had remaindered books. I was directed to talk to Bethany who was running the show. Bethany, as it turns out, was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have met while running the BLBP. She told me that yes, we could have the left over books.

My goodness – she showed me where the books were and we talked some about logistics – tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. we will come and get the remaindered books. It appears as though Pete has gotten the nod because the only other person who could help pack up the books would be me. So we’ll see what happens.

I got thirty Lowes boxes ready to pack up.

Yes, right now we have a lot of books. And more will be on the way because we’ll soon be getting more – books will be coming our way from Kodiak Island.

I next went to the Mat-Su Chamber Chorus event – all I can say is wow. I knew at least 20 people who were in the chorus, and some in the audience. The singers did an excellent job. It all began with the children’s chorus singing their hearts out with the adults following suit.

And it continued on from there. It was so well done – the music was excellent and varied.

After, I returned to work and got things ready for tomorrow.

And tomorrow will be another day.
