And once again I wished for a good friend to talk horse and ride with. This friend would have an Icelandic or two or three and live close by. Gosh, I once had so many friends here and now they are all gone.
And I wished that the ground dries up so that I can again use the arena.
And I of course hope (there’s that word again) that the BLBP gets a staff and that my hours are greatly reduced.
Now for non-horsey thoughts: Today Pete and I met with two members of the Foraker Group and sort of came up with a plan for a plan, one that ultimately will provide a paying staff and land to build on.
I realized that my vision has to change. This of course is a form of flexibility. I must give up on the idea of owning the Eagle Hotel. There are just too many structural problems – for example the tiles in the hotel lobby are buckling. There are other things too but I realized that it would make more sense to purchase the property across the street and build on it.
Yes. This is because the location that we are in is ideal. People know who and where we are. The only drawback is that the property would need to be big enough so as to include other renters, this being called a revenue stream.
The words revenue stream – there is a cartoon in this, for sure. Yes, fish with dollar bills on their sides leaping into and out of the water.
Now I will tell people – I thought previously that I’d like to own the Eagle Hotel but perhaps building adjacent to this space is a better idea.
NO, building adjacent to this space is a great idea. It’s just too bad that the Palmer Arts Council does not want to partner with us because if they did, they would also benefit.
Human beings are sometimes very short sighted.
Yes, these are some of the things I thought of as I was riding today.
